Glossary
Torque:
A measure of force which produces during rotational/linear motion
Unit of measurement is Nm/oz-in/lb-ft,
Based on the operating conditions torque named differently like Rated/continuous torque, Peak/max torque, notch torque, cogging torque etc..,
Speed:
An electric induction motor that produces rotary/linear motion.
Unit of measurement is Rpm/Rps
Based on the operating conditions speed named as rated speed,maximum speed & no load speed
Current:
Electric current is the rate of flow of electronics in a conductor
Unit of measurement is A
Based on input power source , current called as AC/DC Current
Torque constant(Kt):
Output torque for the input current
Unit of
measurement Nm/A, oz-in/A , lb-ft/A
Back Emf(Ke):
Back EMF is the voltage generated when a rotor part-permanent magnet is rotated.
Unit of
measurement v-s/rad, v/1000rpm
Generated voltage is proportional to motor speed and is present regardless of whether the motor winding are energized or de-energized
